Everton will return to Premier League action on Saturday as they take on Nottingham Forest in a tricky away fixture.
The Toffees have been revitalised since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park as manager. Losing just two of his 11 games in charge, the Scot has led his side to the brink of top-flight safety as they are now 15 points above the relegation zone.
However, Moyes will not want standards to slip and like to continue Everton’s momentum when they make the trip to Forest this weekend.
The Merseyside outfit held title challengers Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in their most recent outing. The Gunners dominated the first-half and took a 34th-minute lead through Leandro Trossard. But the Blues hit back after the interval, with Iliman Ndiaye netting the equaliser to salvage a draw.
Two out and four doubtful
Everton will not be able to call upon the services of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala for Saturday’s away clash. The injury-prone striker is battling a serious hamstring issue that has kept him out for around three months now.
Meanwhile, the on-loan Lyon midfielder isn’t expected to play again this season after rupturing his ACL in January.
Jesper Lindstrom has been missing for the previous two matches with a groin injury. The Napoli loanee is a doubt for the upcoming fixture.
Vitaliy Mykolenko sustained a knock during March’s international break and was not involved against Arsenal last time. The talented left-back is not expected to return to the team before next month.
With Mykolenko absent, Moyes started Nathan Patterson in the previous game. The Scot began to struggle in the closing stages with cramp and was forced to come off, but he should be fine to feature against Forest this weekend.
